OK-CIS: A PRACTICAL STANDARD FOR QUALITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND PROJECT CONFIDENCE FOR CLIENTS ACROSS CANADA
At Opus Keystone Inc., we believe successful construction projects require more than skilled labour and quality materials. They also require clear standards, consistent execution, proper documentation, and accountability throughout the installation process.
That is why we developed the Opus Keystone Certified Installation Standard (OK-CIS) for our clients across Canada.
WHAT IS OK-CIS?
The Opus Keystone Certified Installation Standard (OK-CIS) is Opus Keystone Inc.'s internal installation, quality, accountability, and documentation standard. Developed to support safer, cleaner, and more organized projects, OK-CIS may be used to document and verify installation requirements that relate to a stakeholder's product, design intent, warranty, approval, responsibility, or project interest. The goal is simple: help projects move safer, cleaner, more efficiently, and with greater confidence for everyone involved.
INSTALLATION VERIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION
The OK-CIS process provides clear verification and documentation of completed installations, helping create a reliable record of the work performed. Our reporting gives you organized information you can reference for project documentation and review.

WHAT DOES OK-CIS HELP VERIFY?
Depending on project requirements, the OK-CIS process may include review, verification, documentation, and quality checks related to the following:
-
Panel orientation and sequencing
-
Panel alignment and appearance
-
Lap details and connections
-
Trim and flashing installation
-
Corners, openings, transitions, and terminations
-
Final quality reviews
-
Photo documentation
-
Project closeout support
These verification points help support quality workmanship while maintaining clear records throughout the installation process.
-
Approved drawings and project specifications
-
Installation requirements and manufacturer recommendations
-
Material delivery and storage conditions
-
Substrate readiness and preparation
-
Waterproofing and air barrier conditions
-

-
Z-bars, girts, framing, and support systems
-
Fastener types and spacing requirements
SUPPORTING EVERY STAKEHOLDER ON THE PROJECT
Construction projects involve many stakeholders, each with different responsibilities, risks, and expectations. General contractors, construction managers, developers, manufacturers, architects, engineers, consultants, suppliers, building owners, and installation teams all have a vested interest in project success.
OK-CIS helps protect each stakeholder's investment, including their time, money, product, warranty, reputation, contractual responsibility, client relationship, and overall project stake.
By emphasizing communication, documentation, and accountability, the standard helps create greater transparency and confidence throughout the project lifecycle.
MORE THAN DOCUMENTATION
At Opus Keystone Inc., we believe documentation should serve a purpose. It should help support decision-making, improve communication, verify quality requirements, and create a clear record of project activities when needed.
OK-CIS is not about adding paperwork for its own sake. It is about creating a practical system that supports field leadership, quality control, coordination, and continuous improvement.
When installation activities are supported by organized processes and documented standards, projects are often easier to manage, easier to review, and easier to complete successfully.
A KEY OPUS KEYSTONE DIFFERENCE
The Opus Keystone Certified Installation Standard is one of the ways Opus Keystone Inc. differentiates itself within the construction industry.
Combined with our focus on union manpower, experienced field leadership, safety-first execution, quality control documentation, production tracking, and professional communication, OK-CIS reflects our commitment to doing the work properly and supporting the success of every project we are trusted to be part of.
For clients and stakeholders, OK-CIS provides an added layer of confidence that work is being reviewed, documented, and completed with accountability at every stage of the process.
